Dear Resident,

If you would like to respond to the below update from Lucy Frazer MP then please email lucy.frazer.mp@parliament.uk

Access to broadband is critical to Cambridgeshire businesses and residents. As I met parish councils over the summer, it was clear that there are some small villages which are not properly connected.

Many people from Kirtling have contacted me about broadband not being available to all residents on the new exchange. Some people have no access at all, which is something I want to change.

Lack of broadband is not only affecting households, but also those trying to run small businesses. At a time when we are investing in superfast broadband and increasing connectivity, it is not acceptable that many people still have such issues. I want to correct this.

On Friday, 23rd October, I held an open meeting to bring together BT, Connecting Cambridgeshire and affected residents to resolve these problems.

Connecting Cambridgeshire are aware that the cabinet which serves the majority of properties in Kirtling has gone live, but some areas still have issues with slow speeds. They are planning to reach more difficult properties, including Upend, in the next phase of delivery in 2015-2018.

Whilst I am very happy to assist with all queries, Connecting Cambridgeshire is very keen for those with problems to contact them directly. For specific broadband issues and information on the broadband programme, you can contact Connecting Cambridgeshire by emailing contact@connectingcambridgeshire.co.uk. For BT-specific issues, if you have already spoken with your service provider, you can call BT directly to try and resolve the issue.

I will continue to press Connecting Cambridgeshire and BT to deliver a service that we deserve.
